Week of March 14-18 (A-Week)

This week's theme may be shoes, but animals are what I like best, so here's a picture my mom took a while back of a humming bird in her back yard. Pretty cool, huh?

This week we have changed a few things for you.
Please notice that your instructions are below in the form of pages in Word which have been turned into pictures. Click each page to enlarge it so that you can read the pages and follow the directions! As always, assignments are in red.
Theme of the Week:
This week whenever you’re asked to write about something you should write about shoes. You can write about sneakers, the best shoes to wear for different activities, your favorite shoes, least favorite shoes etc.

Monday, March 14

Before you continue, please open Word, create a new blank document and write a paragraph on this week's theme: Shoes.

Save the document you made: the paragraph about shoes. Save it as a 97-2003 Word Document and as a PDF. Make sure your MLA heading is at the top of the page and that you are saving the document with your name and the date as its file name.
Close both the Word Document and the PDF after saving.

Finally... use the RECENT DOCUMENTS menu to open both versions of your document. See what the differences are between the Word Document and the PDF.
In your word document, in another paragraph, write what you have observed about these 2 types of files. Save it again and email it to me!

Tuesday, March 15

Open MS Word and the document you made yesterday. Use the document to explore the VIEW tabs functions as described below.

Close yesterday's document and create a new document. Write a paragraph about what you have observed through the tools under the views tab. Which of these tools will be most useful to you when using Word? Why?
